Menu explanations/tutorials

I haven't used menu in a few years, I see somethings have changed and mostly figured things out. no problem installing menu and using things as outlined in the discord faq " I don't know how to use the menu!" thread. Where can I go for details or tutorials on other features? I tried using CEO options under recovery for example and I can't figure out how it works. The two toggle options I can't even read the labels so I don't know what they do but the first one makes sourcing auto fail when started when it toggled on.

Some of the options are self explanatory others I have no idea of what's going on.

I honestly don't even know what to say to you, to be fair.

On one hand, I completely understand you, and we actually did plan to add short descriptions to the features. But this is very far from being a priority right now, considering there are much more important things to deal with now, and there were back then as well.

Unfortunately, I don't see a free window to implement something like that in the near future. But I don't think it should be a problem for you to simply test an option by trial and error if it isn't "self explanatory", or just ask in discord or here on the forum.

And one more thing: when you ask something, please give people context. Quite a few people write things like, "Help, something isn't working for me." And that's it. Literally, that's the entire message.

We don't know the details, we don't know the specifics, hell, we don't even know which one of the three menus they're talking about. And then they get offended at the entire world because nobody replies to them or solves their problem 😁

I've asked about this in discord but that was kind of just passed and I obviously don't want to just ask the same question multiple times but I can't figure out what the pictured options here do. As you can see pictured everything isn't really labeled in a meaningful way. When I click the first "ST" toggle the only thing I notice is I auto fail source missions for special cargo. I don't even know what it's trying to do. Also trying not to ask questions where the answer is just available somewhere but I don't even know where to begin to look lol. I searched ceo crate in discord for example and just saw someone saying the ceo crate value doesn't do anything, which I thought maybe was referencing this but then there was a reply about watching a tutorial video and I spent a good amount of time trying to find where those are lol. Ended up coming to the conclusion that the response was in regards to a lua script but who knows.

For now, don't pay attention to that part. We're currently preparing a very large update for the Recovery section, and I'm already working on the new translation strings and have removed a lot of the old ones (the translation strings are stored on the server, and I decided not to use the fallback ones, since we don't plan to delay the release of the new version).

There will be a lot of changes and a lot of new features, so for now, just ignore those options. At the moment, while I'm writing this reply to you, I'm already preparing a new build for the testers.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask (but please include context and details). We'll do our best to help ;)

Yeah, for now just stick to the main features, because a lot has already been reworked in Recovery anyway.

There are tons of new features, many old ones have been moved next to the new ones into more logical subsections, and so on.

To give you an idea of the scale, I was just putting together a very brief summary for the testers covering roughly half of the new additions, and even that very surface-level changelog ended up being 73 lines long ))
